What is the DTV Visa?

Launched in 2024, the DTV is Thailand's answer to the global digital nomad movement. It's designed for remote workers, freelancers, and individuals pursuing Thai cultural activities (the "soft power" route). Unlike tourist visas that limit your stay to 60-90 days, the DTV gives you 180 days per entry and you can extend for another 180 days.

The visa is valid for 5 years from the date of issue, allowing multiple entries throughout that period. This means you can effectively stay in Thailand as long as you want by doing occasional border runs to reset your 180-day stamp - far less frequently than tourist visa holders.

The two main routes are Remote Work (for digital nomads and remote employees) and Soft Power (for Muay Thai training, cooking classes, medical treatment, etc.). Both routes require 500,000 THB in your bank account and cost 10,000 THB to apply.
